Question: How do I make a nickname for my husband that isn't wimpy?

Answer:  Think of adjectives and nouns that exude strength and power. (See Question: What is the point of these silly nicknames?)

Animals?
Tiger
Lion

Hobbies?
Golf
Fisherman
Football

Non wimpy adjectives?
Amazing
Awesome
Strong

Now that we have a list of good words, let's throw in some affectionate adjectives too so that they look like nicknames, not titles.  If in doubt, just throw the word "man" at the end of it, I've never met a male who didn't like to be called a man.
Snuggly Tigerman
Charming Fisherman
Amazing Golfer Dude
Awesome Strong Lion

If all else fails, use the word King or Doctor, but not together.
King of my Heart
King of my World
Doctor Awesome
Doctor Amazing
My Royal King

Question: How do I make a cute nickname for my girlfriend or boyfriend?

Answer:  Add "kins" or "y-kins" to everything.

Examples:
Chipmunky-kins
Birdie-kins
Cuddle-kins

Adjectives are the frosting on the cake of language (I made that metaphor up myself, by the way), so let's add them to our nouns for more fun.

Examples:
Darling Chipmunky-kins
Angelic Birdie-kins
Cozy Cuddle-kins

Question: What is one way to make up a creative nickname?

Answer: Take any cool adjective and add it to any animal name that you like.

Examples of adjectives are:
Gleaming
Gorgeous
Enchanting
Beautiful

Fun nouns to use are:
Stallion
Chipmunk
Cheetah

Mix them up and we get:
Beautiful Gleaming Cheetah
Enchantingly Beautiful Chipmunk
Gorgeous Chipmunk
Enchanting Stallion

Question: What is the point of these silly nicknames?

Answer:  Life rains on our parade all the time, why not choose to spread joy and cheer and warmth wherever we can?  When you call your friend or significant other or even your dog a fun, complimentary nickname has lots of positives...

1. They like it.  Most people love to be complimented.  Find out what they enjoy most to be complimented on and make nicknames up with it.  It will make them feel good.  It might make them laugh.  Laughter is good.  It might lift their spirits.  That never hurts.

2. You enjoy it.  Choosing to say something up lifting to another person boosts your mood too.  Your brain (disclaimer: The last science/biology class I took was in high school and I think I got a D in it) enjoys finding good things in life!  Expressing your affection for another living creature who shares your sentiments makes you feel good.

3. It's free.  Try it and see if you like it.
